Golden Oldies
The Oldies at the oldies place were having their lunch, eating their biscuits with a chomp and a crunch,
Jenny looked at her hands and said with a grin, “I didn’t always have these wrinkles on my skin!”
Dorris thought for a while and then she said,”I didn’t need assistance to go to bed”.
“I used to have such wavy locks until to my dismay, Instead of a head of blonde my hair was grey.
I used to go to discos and dance all night, as I boogied and swayed, I was a wonderful sight”.
“Those were the days “, Jenny said with a sigh, “Doesn’t time just fly by!”
“I wasn’t always in these old folk’s houses, but sadly mini skirts were swapped for blouses,
My Mum would have to scream and scream to get me to wake up, I would spend all day applying my makeup,
I didn’t used to so easily feel the cold, look what happened, I got old!”
“Pass me the doughnuts Dorris dear,” “Sorry my love, I can’t quite hear!”
“That’s enough thinking about when we were young!2
“Yeah, I feel like a game of football!”

Finally, some scenes from the school’s end of year production of Oliver
and Rev Mary Edward officiating at the School Leaver’s Service in
St Andrew’s.
